The Malla Dynasty was the ruling dynasty of Kathmandu c. 1201–1769. The Malla period was a golden one that stretched over 600 years, though it was peppered with fighting over the valuable trade routes to Tibet. The Malla Kings are revered as semi-deities. This piece is a beautiful bronze, dating to early 19th century.
