This bronze image of a Malla King from Early 18th Century was originally used as a lamp by burning Ghee, The Malla Dynasty was the ruling dynasty of Kathmandu c. 1201–1769. The Malla period was a golden one that stretched over 600 years, though it was peppered with fighting over the valuable trade routes to Tibet. The Malla Kings are revered as semi-deities.
