An exceptional early 19th century elephant bell from the Lanna States, Thailand. Elephant bells would quite literally hang around the neck of domesticated elephants. This would help to located the elephants while they wandered freely through the jungles. Bell is made of bronze and the stand is made from teak wood.
Condition: Good, some damage to the connection between the stand and bell.
