A rare and unique wooden fertility statue from the Bambara People of Mali circa 1940s-1950s. These large-scale statues are quite uncommon. These unique statues were meant to be kept with the female of the house in order to ensure fertility. These statues are hand carved from a single block of wood. Can sit proudly on a tabletop or on the floor.
Condition: Very good, some small chips and minor cracking. All wear consistent with age.
Measures: 35.5" tall, 9" wide, 10.5" deep.
